Photo of Fort Nottingham in South Africa by me. A little rural hamlet that we used to go to on weekends when I was young. It was a place often where time seemed slower. Fires, making toasties in the jaffle iron, lazy afternoons in the sun on the verandah, slow walks. It still holds a strong place in my heart.

Always On

Watching, doing, going, earning, striving, swiping, scrolling …

Rarely pausing

to be bored
to be lost
to be still

To just be.

I was lying down the other day and just closed my eyes. It was quiet, dark, and there was nothing to do, nowhere I had to go, no demands, and I soaked in the nothingness of the moment.

It really reminded me of how different life feels when I slow down and stop for a while.

Love and hugs to you all
Mick
